I am a reporter with experience in city hall, business, education, crime and cultural reporting. My focus is politics, economics, crime and education but I have experience writing and reporting a variety of other beats for local feature magazines, literature blogs, small-town local dailies and international wires. I contribute reporting to Thomson Reuters' Los Angeles bureau, and work with the reporters and editors out of that bureau to cover stories that break in the Bakersfield-Stockton area. I most recently covered a story about Foster Farms using up the majority of Merced County's water, but paying discounted prices for thier use.

I attended and graduated from college at Fresno State University, and majored in Mass Communications and Journalism with an emphasis in Print Journalism. During my five years there, I worked for the school newspaper for three years and joined a variety of clubs, organizations and committees on campus.
